When is the best time of the day to shoot the bridal shots ? The rule of thumb is quite simple, 60 minutes before sunset. This is what photographers refer to as the golden hour. Keeping in mind the golden hour will change depending on the time of year. Why do photographers prefer this? As the suns start to go down the sky is less intense resulting in lower colour temperature bringing out warmer tones. The reduced harshness from the sun also offers the opportunity to play around with more angles and back drops.
Although it's not always possible to accommodate a golden hour shoot on every wedding day, it should be the first thing couple should have in mind when scheduling times.
